A wise man climbs Mt. Fuji once, only a fool climbs it twice.

Japanese proverb

Japan ranks at the top of my bucket list due to its mesmerising blend of rich culture, spanning traditional arts to modern pop marvels. The deep-rooted respect for tradition, delectable cuisine, and the seamless fusion of ancient heritage with cutting-edge advancements create an irresistible allure.

Leading my travel goals within Japan is the iconic Mt. Fuji, or Fujisanan absolute must-see that also sparked the inspiration for my debut 'mountain' painting.

This iconic mountain holds profound significance in the hearts of the Japanese. It's a revered symbol of their strength, endurance, and cultural essence. Beyond its breathtaking physical presence, Fujisan embodies the Japanese philosophy of harmony with nature.

Climbing its slopes is a transformative journey, reflecting personal growth and resilience. Fujisan stands as a genuine cultural cornerstone, fostering a deep sense of connection and pride among the Japanese people.

Moreover, the colours adorning this paintingfrom traditional red (aka), black (kuro), white (shiro), blue (ao) to the shimmering metallic silver, neon pink, and fluorescent yellow, drawing inspiration from the country's vibrant pop culture—come together to pay homage to Japan's rich heritage and dynamic modernity.
